Winifred Kirkland letters to Mark Anthony deWolfe Howe [manuscript], 1908-1914.

A letter, 1908 Dec 16, accompanies a manuscript of a story she is submitting in hopes of its being published in the Youth's Companion. She offers to reduce its length if need be. In a letter, 1909 December 2, Kirkland writes that Howe shouldn't mind returning this story, for she doesn't mind herself. She thanks him for his advice about the serial, and says that she thinks she can cut according to pattern. In a letter, 1914 Oct 1, Kirkland describes how Mr. Paul Reynolds, her agent, has asked for all of her work. Though she admits he can do better for her than she can do for herself, she says she prefers to send her work directly to the "Youth's Companion" and the "Atlantic."
